From meal planning to scrapbooks to schedules, these apps help you simplify your life!
- Unroll.Me this wonderful app will help you eliminate emails you no longer wish to see and declutter that inbox.
- Mealime this site has free meal planning with menus and grocery list capabilities. There are a few downsides, for example you cannot search by appliance, like Instant Pot and there is not a category like “Kid Friendly.” However, they do have a free option. You can compare it to emeals which has different options, but not free plan.
- Daily Budget is not a finance app that will link with your bank account. It is super simple. You just put in your monthly income, subtract your absolute expenses and then add your goal, for example, save 10% and even the kids can see how you do at the end.
- Mint honestly, I liked Personal Capital better for its simplicity to do the basics.
However, Mint is better at budgeting, goal setting, helping you see your credit score and finding more obscure financial institutions than Personal Capital. Personal Capital shines at investment strategy. Both have a free version, both link to your financial institution and both offer bill tracking and alerts, a dashboard with expenses and flow of your money, connections to other accounts (like savings) and both are desktop or mobile friendly.
- Motivated Moms () Are you trying to get the household chores done? This fabulous app is easy to use and you can assign different tasks to different family members. (To see the app go to the IOs or Google Play store and look up “motivated moms”.
- Habitica is a productivity app. This helps you get your list of “stuff” done and have fun doing it. This is a great app for the kids too. The interface is like a video game and when you complete your goals you get points which allow you to further create your character which you can then later team up with others to fight battles.
- Forest is like a productivity app, only it helps more to keep you focused on one task. It is centered around growing a tree. When you start your task, you plant a seed. As long as you don’t wander off, your seed will grow into a tree. I can think of all kinds of fun uses for this, reading and homework time for example.
- Fitocracy Gamified apps are a trend people love. The incentive is higher to complete whatever the end goal is on the app. Fitocracy, which has a free version, is all about fitness. It is simple to use, keeps you motivated, has a community to engage with and many different styles of workouts.
- Keepy I love this app! It helps clear clutter and save memories, easily. You can take photos of artwork and create a ‘museum’ for family members or simply store and then toss the actual “masterpiece” since you know you will be getting a new one next week. You can also upload photos and create photo books easily. If you have “mom guilt” over not being able to “scrapbook” Keepy is a great answer.
- Happify Sometimes we just need a lift. Happify has a free version and is more expensive than many other mood apps in the paid version. However, it is based on fun. 86% of people who use Happify regularly report feeling better about their lives in 2 months!
I would love to hear which of these you have tried and what your thoughts are.
Also, are there any other absolute “must have” apps for moms that you would recommend?
